Arsenal and Monaco reach agreement for want-away star Folarin Balogun
AS Monaco have reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of USA international Folarin Balogun.
The 22-year-old striker shone in the Ligue 1 last season and has pushed for a permanent move away from the Emirates to build on his impressive form as the first-choice striker.
He has been of interest to a number of clubs, but the Gunners stuck to their valuation of the striker. Les Rouges et Blanc are now said to have met Arsenal's ask.
What happened
According to GFFN, Monaco have reached an agreement with the North London giants on a €45 million guaranteed fee for Balogun, excluding bonuses.
He has reportedly agreed on personal terms with the Adi Hutter side and is set to put pen to paper for a five-year contract.
Monaco have been insistent on landing Balogun, who set the French top flight alight last season, scoring 22 goals for Reims.
They have been in negotiations with the Gunners for weeks and even had a reported opening proposal rejected.
He was also courted by Lens, West Ham and Inter Milan, according to reports, but neither side could reach an agreement with Arsenal.
Although there are a few details still to work out, Le Rocher seem to have landed their man, with the key details already worked out.
