Hurdling queen Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone capped off her historic season in style with double wins at the Brussels Diamond League and was rewarded with waffles and chocolates.
The 400mH world record holder raced in non-Diamond League events - the 200m and 400m and authoritatively won both races, thus proving again her exceptional talent as a versatile sprinter.

First competing on the first day of the Brussels Diamond League final, McLaughlin-Levrone clocked a blistering time of 49.11s to win the women's invitational 400m event and doubled back on the second day, blazing to an impressive 22.40s for the 200m win.
Following her standout performances, the world and Olympic champion was rewarded with Belgian waffles and chocolates. Her priceless reaction to the moment saw her exclaim: "Oh my gosh, they're warm," taking a bite from the waffles. "This is the best meet ever."

McLaughlin-Levrone has now achieved the qualification standard in the 200m, 400m, and 400 hurdles for the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships. Noteworthy is that her Paris Olympics World Record time in the 400 hurdles (50.37s) was already faster than the 400m flat entry standard (50.75s).
