Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has reacted to Morocco’s qualification for the FIFAWWC round of 16.

Morocco will continue their historic run at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFAWWC, after a hard-fought win against Colombia.

The Atlas Lionesses booked their place in the round of 16 on their World Cup debut after a narrow 1-0 win over Colombia during their final game in the group stage on Thursday.

Anissa Lahmari proved to be the heroine of the day as she netted the decisive goal from a rebound following Ghizane Chebbak’s penalty miss.

The Atlas Lionesses came back from the dead after a disappointing start to their debut World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

Morocco started with a 6-0 thrashing from Germany in their first-ever match at the FIFAWWC. But the Atlas Lionesses bounced back with two successive wins against South Korea in the second game and Colombia in their final game in the group stage.

The win against the South Americans saw Morocco become the third team from Africa to book a spot in the knockout stage after Nigeria's Super Falcons and South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.

Following the result, It is the first time in FIFAWWC history that three African teams have qualified for the round of 16.

Nigeria Super Falcons defender Alozie has reacted to Morocco’s passage to the knockout stage of the competition.

The US-based star took to her social media account to celebrate the progress of Africa.

“3 African nations!,” the Falcons star posted on her official X account.
