Football Kenya Federation Premier League team Shabana FC is set to face Mara Sugar in a friendly match on Wednesday morning at Sameta Stadium in Bobasi.
This game serves as a critical testing ground for the club's new recruits and potential signings, under the guidance of head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo, as they gear up for their upcoming league match against Nairobi City Stars.
Recently facing a tough defeat against Ulinzi Stars at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay, Shabana, currently 17th on the log with 17 points, is eager to make a significant turnaround.
Pamzo expressed his commitment to the team and the upcoming challenges.
"On Sunday 4th February 2024, we’re going to put up a formidable performance against City Stars FC to clinch the game. Every defeat is a chance to rebound and demonstrate our determination to maintain our position in KPL. That's our battle," he stated.
Omollo also shared his personal sentiment about being part of the Shabana FC family.
"I feel at home here at Shabana FC. I am convinced that I can contribute significantly to the team and uplift the spirits of our fans," he said.
The friendly match is particularly significant as it marks the debut of Shabana's new recruits.

The team has recently roped in striker Mathew Tegisi from Gusii FC, midfielder Brian Odhiambo from Darajani Gogo, Rainbow’s Japheth Muzungu, and left-back Lenny Maneno from Tanzania.
Shabana has decided to feature three goalkeepers in the match, all potential signings: former Bandari custodian Peter Odhiambo, ex-AFC Leopards' Ezekiel Owade, and Nzoia Sugar netminder Frederick Munyendo.
This decision comes after Shabana dropped their entire set of goalkeepers, marking a bold step in their ongoing transfer window.
