I have been a scapegoat for long — Sancho calls out Erik Ten Hag in scathing social media post
Manchester United midfielder Jadon Sancho has called out his manager Erik Ten Hag after comments made by the Red Devils boss.
Sancho was conspicuously missing as United suffered a thrashing at the Emirates on Sunday.
Arsenal proved too good after a late show saw the Gunners undress United 3-1.
Ten Hag on Sancho
After the encounter, the United manager revealed that Sancho did not make the trip to North London because of did not train well.
“Jadon Sancho out? Based on performance on training we didn't select him,” Ten Hag stated moments after the game per a post by Fabrizio Romano.
“You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. That’s why in this game he wasn't selected,” he added.
The Dutchman saw his Red Devils collapse in added time at the Emirates as goals from Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus fired the Gunners to a sensational win.
However, following his comments about Sancho after the game, the England star has now come out to respond to his manager.
Sancho replies Ten Hag
According to the 23-year-old, he has asked fans to disregard what was said about him as he has been scapegoated again.
“Please don’t believe everything you read,” Sancho stated in a statement on X.com. “I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.”
“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into. I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair."
The playmaker added that he just wants to play football and help the team and he respects his managers.
“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, i play with fantastic players and am grateful to do so which i know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for his badge no matter what,” he added.
