Robertson want Liverpool departure

The Scot, who has been a key player since joining in 2017, is said to have informed his agents of his desire to join the Spanish club, prioritising a non-Premier League move out of respect for Liverpool fans.

Despite his past contributions, Robertson's form has seen a downturn, coinciding with the Reds’ pursuit of younger left-back Milos Kerkez.

Although his contract runs until 2026, the Premier League champions will demand a transfer fee, likely around €10 million, despite Atletico's hopes for a cheaper deal

Robertson recently stated his intention to fight for his place at Anfield, but a departure now appears increasingly likely.

“I look back on these eight years that I’ve had there as the starting left-back at one of the best clubs in the world for that long, and that’s something I’m very proud of,” said the defender on international duty this month.

“Your time comes and I don’t think it’s my time yet, but whatever happens with the club, whether we do bring someone in, or we don’t, then so be it. I’ll always back myself.”
