Report: Barcelona make move for Sofyan Amrabat
Barcelona are reportedly working on signing Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina for the remainder of the season.
The 26-year-old shone in Qatar 2022, helping Morocco become the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals. His performance at the tournament earned him suitors, but interest in him has since cooled off. Amrabat is back in the transfer limelight, with Barcelona said to be interested in his services on a loan deal.

Barcelona are looking for a replacement for the aging Sergio Busquets ahead of a grueling schedule.
The Blaugrana, who have reportedly been told by LaLiga that they have managed to create up to €5 million in salary margin, are said to plan to use this new allowance to bring in bodies in the final hours of the transfer window, and Amrabat is reported as one of them.
A similar report by another Barcelona-based journalist, Achraf Ben Ayad, states that Barcelona have met with neither Fiorentina nor the player but have indeed held talks with the player’s agent, who also represents Serginio Dest, a Barcelona player on loan at AC Milan. The reports also suggest that a formal offer will be made in the coming hours.
