Real Madrid turned it up in the second-half after a stiff contested first 45 to beat Villarreal 3-1 and move back to pole position in LALIGA.

Los Blancos were handed their first defeat of the season in the Madrid derby last week, which knocked them off the perch, allowing Barcelona to take pole position.

They have now responded in the best way possible, beating high-flying Villarreal at the New Santiago Bernabeu to move two points clear of Barcelona, albeit having played a game more.
