Real Madrid receive injury boost ahead of Juventus and Barcelona clashed
Real Madrid have received an injury boost, with both their forwards, Kylian Mbappe and Franco Mastantuono, who suffered injury scares during the international break, reportedly fit for their next league game.
Mbappe and Mastantuono injury scare
Kylian Mbappé picked up an ankle problem late in France’s 3–0 World Cup qualifying fixture against Azerbaijan, aggravating a right-ankle issue that had given him discomfort in club play against Villarreal just before the break.
He was substituted in the 83rd minute, and the French federation confirmed he withdrew from the next qualifier to return to Real Madrid for assessment.
Medical checks at Valdebebas have been described as precautionary rather than catastrophic.
Mastantuono was also withdrawn early from Argentina’s squad during the same international window after suffering a muscle overload, with the AFA and Real Madrid agreeing he should return to Madrid for treatment and controlled recovery rather than risk minutes for the national team.
Star forwards return in time
According to Spanish journalist Sergio Quirante, Mastantuono and Mbappe have been determined injury-free and will be expected to start in the LALIGA game against Getafe after the international break.
Avoiding injuries for two of their key forwards is also major news for Real Madrid, given the tough month they have ahead of them. They play Juventus and Barcelona in the El Clásico after the Getafe game, followed by historically tough fixtures against Valencia and Liverpool.
