Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has clinched the Premier League Player of the Month award for February, giving him consecutive honours and equalling Mohamed Salah’s record.

Rashford secures February Player of the Month award

Rashford was in great form once again in the month of February and helped Manchester United with five goals in four Premier League games (more than any other Premier League player) as they won three matches in the month and drew the last.

Rashford scored in every league game in February and has been deservedly honoured with the Premier League Player of the month accolade for the second month in a row after claiming the January award as well.

With his third monthly honour, Rashford equals Salah’s all-time Premier League record for Player of the Month awards in a single campaign which he set with three wins in the 2017/2018 season.

Rashford beats Iheanacho, others to Player of the Month award

Rashford has been in outstanding form for most of the season and neither the February award nor the shared record with Salah comes as a surprise to anybody who has been following the 2022/23 season.

Rashford won the February Player of the Month award by beating Leicester’s Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, Fulham’s Bernd Leno and Manor Solomon, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, and Tottenham’s Emerson Royal who were all also nominated for the prize.

With three months left until the end of the season, Rashford has a great chance of surpassing Salah’s record with another award in March, April or May, and at his current level, few would confidently bet against him winning at least one more Player of the Month prize before the season ends.
