Pool Cranes giants raid Kenya for shs60M tournament

As the days for the grand 2023 Nile Special Open close in, a team of 16 pool players are in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, to measure themselves up against some of the continent’s top shooters.

The 16 will take part in the prestigious The Grand Mchana Open that climaxes on Sunday 24th, of September.

They include eight of the top 10 seeds in the Pool Association of Uganda’s current men’s ranking.

The team also has former national team captain and 2012 Open winner Alfred Gumisiriza and 2015 champion Amos Ndyagumanawe.

The tournament has attracted top shooters from Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, South Africa and Lithuania.

The 128 players will fight for a total of $13,500 (approx. shs.51 million), with the winner walking home with shs19 million.

The top 16 players will all be rewarded cash prizes.
