Paris 2024 Olympics: Spain come from behind to defeat Morocco in spectacular semi-final
At the Orange Veldrom stadium in Marseille, Morocco and Spain went head to head for a spot at the Olympic final.
Spain who were favourites for the win went behind early in the game after an error in the box caused a penalty.
To Morocco's rescue came Soufiane Rahimi who has been finding the box often in the competition. He scored and sparked a frenzy from the Moroccan fans.
In the second half, Spain made three changed and they started dominating the game more.
5 minutes after the substitutions, Spain equalised through Barcelona's Fermin Lopez.
Spain controlled the ball well, they kept the ball away from Morocco and it soon rewarded them.
Play was switched wide and the game got stretched, the Moroccan defence was caught napping when the substitute Juanlu Sanchez ran into the box before placing beyond the goalkeeper.
Despite Spain's dominance, Morocco showed amazing athleticism when winning the ball back.
They pressed forward as a team every time and ran back to defend every moment they lost the ball.
Despite a pitch invader causing additional time on already added time, Morocco ran out of time and the referee blew the whistle.
Despite the missed opportunity at the final, Morocco will still have the bronze medal to play for against either France or Egypt.
