The 100m hurdles world record holder failed to even reach the final after finishing third in her semi-final heat with a time of 12.55 seconds.
The Ogun-state-born Nigerian superstar finished a lowly ninth overall, dashing the dreams of an entire nation that had been counting on her to deliver gold.
Nigeria's flagbearer Amusan, who set the world record of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Championships, could not replicate that blistering form on the biggest stage.

Disappointing outing for Tobi Amusan who came third in her heat and will have to wait for the outcome in other heats to see if she can qualify as one of fastest losers 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/KmUhfv7p8A
