'Oya Shake Body' — Lamine Yamal walks out to Skales’ song as Barcelona unveil their new no.10
FC Barcelona have formally handed Lamine Yamal the club’s most storied shirt, confirming the 18-year-old as their new No. 10 after he signed through to 2031.
The club announced the number switch in mid-July, with president Joan Laporta personally presenting the shirt to the teenager at an official act at the club’s offices.
Yamal, who helped deliver a domestic treble has now underlined his status as Barça’s brightest young star.
A Nigerian soundtrack to usher in a new era
At the subsequent squad presentation for 2025/26, Yamal’s new number drew one of the loudest ovations of the night at the Johann Cruyff Stadium, a nod to the responsibility that accompanies a jersey worn by Blaugrana legends like Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.
The moment Barca unveiled their No. 10 came with an unmistakably Nigerian soundtrack.
As Yamal strode out before the Joan Gamper Trophy final against Como, the stadium sound system blasted Skales’ 2014 smash hit “Shake Body,” .

Skales reposted the walk-out and celebrated the moment, expressing gratitude for his “2025 blessings” as the song found a fresh global stage via Lamine Yamal and Barcelona.
The choice of track is hardly random anyway as “Shake Body” had already become a Barça-adjacent anthem this year.
Pulse Sports earlier reported that Skales linked up with Yamal during the Copa del Rey title celebrations in April, a crossover that underlines Afrobeats’ surging cultural footprint in European football since Odumodublvck’s influence with his song named after Arsenal's midfield star Declan Rice.
For Skales, it was another viral inflection point for a song that continues to find new life in football culture.
Why Lamine Yamal was destined to become Barca’s new no.10
Barça have entrusted their academy prodigy with a shirt that, in Catalonia, is less a number than an inheritance.
As Cadena SER reported from the signing day, Yamal called wearing the ‘10’ “the fulfilment of a dream."
For Barcelona, the reveal capped a summer aimed at refreshing the brand on and off the pitch, with Yamal front-and-centre.
The club’s own recap of the team’s official presentation highlighted how strongly supporters responded to the new numbers, but most of all to the, 18-year-old now carrying “the iconic No. 10.”
