Osimhen opens up on toughest opponent: 'He is one of the strongest defenders'

Osimhen has showered high praise on AS Roma centre-back Chris Smalling calling him "one of the strongest defenders."

The Super Eagles striker has been outstanding over the past 12 months in Napoli, striking fear into the hearts of numerous defenders in Italy and across Europe.

However, Osimhen revealed he faced some hard battles with defenders during his time in Serie A.

Speaking to Mario Balotelli and Emiliano Viviano on Twitch (via Roma Press), Osimhen touched on his highlights and toughest opponents in Italy.

“The most beautiful goal I scored was the one against Roma at the Olimpico. People can’t comprehend how difficult it was.”

 When asked about the hardest defenders he’s faced, Osimhen replied:

 “Romero [from Tottenham, ex-Atalanta] is a really good defender. I had some difficult moments dealing with him. The other defender is Smalling – one of the strongest I’ve come across.”

Osimhen scored twice against Smalling and Roma last season, as Napoli completed the double against Jose Mourinho's men.
