Despite being the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, Osimhen has shown nothing but class, modesty, and unity, qualities that have quickly endeared him to fans and pundits alike.

Emre Bol hails Osimhen’s humility and team spirit

Speaking after Galatasaray’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Ajax, where Osimhen delivered a stunning match-winning performance, Ekol Sports commentator Emre Bol described the Super Eagles striker as “a player with zero ego.”

The Nigerian forward, who returned to Galatasaray for €75 million last July, has been in sensational form, yet his humility has remained unchanged.

Bol pointed out Osimhen’s strong relationship with Mauro Icardi, the man he replaced as the club’s main striker, as proof of his grounded personality. “Osimhen still treats Icardi like a brother, like a king. The guy has zero ego,” Bol told habersarikirmizi.

“He’s the star of the team, the most expensive player, he scores constantly, and yet he’s incredibly modest. You won’t find a player like that very often.”

Bol further noted Osimhen’s mentorship toward young teammate Barış Alper, praising him for lifting others around him instead of chasing personal glory.

Champions League gesture proves Osimhen’s selflessness

Bol also recalled a remarkable act of sportsmanship during the Ajax match that summed up Osimhen’s character.

Chasing his first-ever Champions League hat-trick, Osimhen was handed a second penalty late in the game, but instead of taking it, he offered the ball to teammate Leroy Sané and encouraged him to score.

“It was the last penalty, and Osimhen said, ‘You score.’ That moment showed unity and humility. He could’ve had his hat-trick, but he chose team harmony,” Bol said.

The gesture has since gone viral among Galatasaray fans, with many calling Osimhen a model professional and a true leader.

As the Super Eagles star prepares for Galatasaray’s weekend clash with Kocaelispor and Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Gabon, his attitude off the pitch continues to shine just as brightly as his performances on it.
