Nigeria books IHF Women's Trophy Africa Continental Phase final spot after win over Rwanda
Nigeria made it a hat trick of victories and have qualified for the final of the IHF Women's Trophy Africa Continental Phase, which is ongoing in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, after defeating Rwanda 38-30 on Thursday.
The national under-18 girls' team expected a tough encounter against Rwanda and it showed in the first half wherein Nigeria edged their opponent with a narrow 18-15 score after an end-to-end fantastic game of handball from both sides.
The second half saw some tactical change and Nigeria was more purposeful in defence as they won the half 20-15 to ensure a 38-30 victory.
Nigeria's Prudence Onyinyechukwu Samuel was named the Most Valuable Player of the match.
Nigeria will play in the final most likely against Guinea on Saturday at exactly 3 pm.
