Michael Edwards: Former Liverpool transfer Guru coming to solve Man United problems?
Manchester United have once again been linked with landing Liverpool's former Sporting director, Mike Edwards.
The in-demand Michael Edwards
Edwards, 44, has been credited with Liverpool's renaissance, or rather, the recruitments that led to it. He is dubbed a transfer guru and was involved in bringing in the likes of Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Sadio Mane to the club.
He made a shocking decision to leave the role last summer and has since been one of the most sought-after sporting directors in the sport, with both Chelsea and Manchester United making a move for him.
The Blues have since sorted themselves out in that department, getting Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart from Brighton.
This leaves Manchester United, who are heavily criticised for their shoddy dealings in the transfer market.
Links to Manchester United resurface
The 43-year-old former footballer is seen as an ideal solution to the Red Devils abysmal recruitment structure, and recent sightings suggest a move is in the works.
According to a report by the Peoples Person, Edwards was seen in attendance at Old Trafford in Manchester United's 3-1 defeat to Brighton.
It is unclear if the club's leadership is truly in talks with him, but if they were, the results of the day could accelerate negotiations.
