The perks of having the GOAT in town have already started to trickle down to South Florida as the entire world prepares for his introduction as an Inter Miami player this Sunday.
It appears that Messi won't be able to buy groceries without some additional security going forward, despite the fact that he had hoped to escape the spotlight somewhat by moving to the United States.
Messi goes shopping in Florida
Photos showed Messi paying for his groceries at Publix, Florida's biggest grocery chain, surfaced on Thursday night.
According to reports, Messi will earn $54 million in salary annually and sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Major League Soccer team,
Fans started requesting pictures with the superstar, and Messi did not turn them away.
The three children Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro as well as wife Antonela Roccuzzo accompanied the seven-time winner of the Ballon d'Or.
While their father took care of some media-related tasks, Messi's sons were playing around to kill time.
In one of the pictures that surfaced online, Messi could be seen carrying a cart.
According to The Daily Mail, Messi's cart contained Fruit Loops and Lucky Charms cereal from Kellogg's.
Lionel Messi to be unveiled by Inter Miami
On Sunday, July 16, Lionel Messi will be introduced as a new member of Inter Miami.
On Monday, July 17, the superstar will have a press conference. Journalists will be present for the forward's first day of training.
The former Barcelona legend will make his Inter Miami debut on Friday, July 21, when the Herons take on Liga MX team Cruz Azul at their home DRV PNK Stadium.
