Stop Saudi Arabia — Man United legend Gary Neville cries out to PL to stop transfers
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has charged the Premier League to look into Saudi Arabia’s invasion of the league for players.
Saudi Arabian clubs have taken the PL by storm, picking club players for their revolution of the Saudi Pro League.
Saudi Arabian clubs have been busy this summer, splashing the cash as they look to sign some big-name players.
Gary Neville frowns at Saudi Arabia
Premier League club Chelsea have been at the centre of the league’s invasion in England.
No fewer than four players from Stamford Bridge are expected to swap London for Saudi Arabia this summer.
At the top of that list is defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante who has already been unveiled by giants Al Ittihad.
According to a report by Pulse Sports Nigeria, Kante will reunite with international teammate, Karim Benzema, after putting pen to paper as a free agent.
The defensive midfielder is expected to be joined by teammates Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Hakim Ziyech.
Ruben Neves is also another PL star who is set for a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League from Wolves and United legend, Neville, has seen enough.
The former defender has called on the league body to look into the transfer dealings to run an integrity check on Saudi Arabia’s transfer strategy.
"The Premier League should put an instant embargo on transfers to Saudi Arabia to ensure the integrity of the game isn't being damaged,” he said according to a report by Sport Bible.
“Checks should be made on the appropriateness of the transactions. I do believe, at this moment in time, transfers should be halted until you look into the ownership structure at Chelsea and whether there are beneficial transfer dealings that are improper."
Saudi clubs not done yet
Meanwhile, Neville may have to step up his call for a check as Saudi Arabia has its eyes set on more PL stars.
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, the Pro League seems to have remembered Liverpool and their superstar Mohamed Salah.
The Saudis have been asked to bring Salah given his popularity in the Arab world and Europe, according to comments from a top ranking official in the Asian Football Confederation.
