Liverpool’s Salah to get time off from Egypt duties to sort out potential Al Ittihad transfer
Although the European transfer window is already closed, Mohamed Salah remains embroiled in a transfer saga with Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad still keen on the Egyptian’s signature.
Salah still wanted by Al Ittihad
Salah will reportedly be given some extra days to join the rest of Egypt’s squad for the upcoming international break as a result of the ongoing transfer rigmarole as the FA wants to give him time to sort out a potential transfer without having to travel back and forth from the national team camp should a move finally materialise.
Al Ittihad are reportedly willing to offer as high as £200 million to sign Salah and remain confident of finding a deal with Liverpool, but the Reds have repelled all bids up to this point, as the offer came too late for them to find a replacement for the Egyptian.
The Saudi Arabian club have not given up hope, however, and with the transfer window in their county remaining open until September 7, they still have a few days to convince Liverpool to sell their prized asset.
Salah to get extended break to sort out potential transfer
Should a deal materialise in the coming days, Salah will likely have to travel to Saudi Arabia to complete the agreement and having to travel to Egypt for the international break and then again to Saudi Arabia to complete the transfer and back to the national team might be a stretch for the Liverpool man.
According to reports from the DailyMail, the Liverpool icon could be spared an early return home to join the Pharaohs as they prepare for their final AFCON qualifier group game against Ethiopia.
Egypt has already booked a place at the 2023 AFCON and are top of the qualifying group, so they might not need to call on the service of the Liverpool forward during the international break.
