Kaizer Chiefs Coach Makes Bold Promise to Fans After Ending Losing Streak
Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has made a promise to the club's supporters following the team's return to winning form.
Amakhosi snapped a four-game losing streak with a narrow 1-0 victory over Durban City at FNB Stadium on Sunday.
The win provided a moment of relief for the technical team, as Cedric Kaze and his assistant, Khalil Ben Youssef, have been under intense scrutiny from fans disappointed with recent results.
The pressure had escalated last week when a contingent of Kaizer Chiefs supporters marched to the club's headquarters in Naturena to express their dissatisfaction.
Amid growing calls for improved performances, some fans had even suggested boycotting matches before the crucial clash against the Citizens.
Cedric Kaze: We Shall Work Hard and Improve Kaizer Chiefs
Following the victory, Kaze extended his gratitude to the fans who attended the match, vowing that the Phefeni Glamour Boys would continue to strive for improvement in their remaining league games.
"I’d like to thank the supporters that showed up today. It was not easy, but they showed that they are behind the team even in difficult situations," Kaze stated as per iDiski Times.
"And those are the fans we have. We believe that even those that were watching on TV and couldn’t be here, we have wonderful fans."
He outlined the team's commitment to turning their fortunes around. "What we can promise them is just to work hard every day to improve the team and to try in every game to get a positive performance," he added.
Acknowledging the supporters' recent anger, Kaze sent a message of understanding and urged them to continue backing the team.
"I’ll say I understand the frustrations. My message to them is we’re not sleeping; we know the frustrations, we know that they deserve better and they want better things," he explained.
"The best way to support the team and show that you want better, even in these difficult times, is to try to come to the stadium and support the team. We know that when they are behind us, they will be the 12th man, and we are going to feel more energy with them."
