Lukaku has affirmed his commitment to the Serie A side by turning down a move to Saudi Arabia and is adamant that he only wants to play for Inter next season.

The only thing holding up the deal has been Inter's financial situation. The Nerazzurri do not have the money for an outright purchase and have been trying to bring the 31-year-old back on loan.

Chelsea, up till now, have been adamant they would only accept a permanent offer but sources close to the negotiations expect a compromise to be reached soon, with the most likely outcome being a loan with an obligation to buy.
