Olayinka’s return to competitive football came during Crvena Zvezda’s 3-1 victory over Mladost on May 25, 2025.

The Nigerian forward came on for Cherif Ndiaye in the 86th minute, wasting no time in making an impact.

In the 91st minute, Olayinka provided a crucial assist for the third goal, setting up teammate Bruno Duarte to seal the win for the Serbian champions.

He said, I never let a stumble on the road be the end of my journey.

"I focus on the positive aspects of recovery, such as “The comeback is always stronger than the setback”. JESUS IS KING I'M BACK

This marked a dream return for the Ibadan-born star, who showcased his ability to influence games even with limited minutes on the pitch.

After the match, Olayinka posed with the trophies won by Crvena Zvezda this season, a moment captured in the images he shared on social media.

The collection of silverware—likely including the Serbian SuperLiga and Kup Srbije titles—symbolizes the club’s dominance in Serbian football.

The injury, sustained during a UEFA Champions League match against Monaco in October 2024, had kept Olayinka out for 31 games, ruling him out of contention for a Super Eagles call-up during that period.
