‘He doesn't like publicity’ - Lookman’s dad speaks highly of CAF POTY winner, thanks Nigerians for support
Super Eagles star Lookman was on Monday named the best player in Africa by CAF after a remarkable season for club and country.
The winger was instrumental in Atalanta winning their first European trophy, having scored a hat trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
He took his club form also to the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where he helped the Super Eagles reach the final of the competition.
Lookman’s dad speaks highly of his son
Lookman's dad was quick to hail his son’s achievement after he was asked in an interview to express how he felt.
He said as reported by OneJoblessBoy on X, “I'm so proud of him because he's a very committed, player.
“He's very humble, and he doesn't like too much publicity because he really wants to focus on his football and that is what has taken him to this place now. So I am so much proud of him as a father.
“He thanked Nigerians who supported Lookman, “Well, I just want to thank them. I want to thank everybody for their prayers, for their support, for their, comments, you understand.
“I want to thank them and I want to thank Almighty God as well, and I want to tell the younger ones coming that they should please focus on their dreams, and they will get there.”

Lookman will be looking to continue his fine form this season, having scored eight goals and provided four assists this season.
