Shumah emerged as the hero of the match, securing a dramatic 3-2 victory for Power Dynamos over rivals Zesco United with his third goal in the 80th minute.

From Setback to Star Performance

After being left out of the starting lineup in several recent matches, some speculated that Shumah had fallen out of favour with the coach.

However, the striker has responded emphatically, scoring five goals in his last two league appearances and turning the challenge into a catalyst for his stunning form.

Coach Mutapa dismissed any talk of a rift, stating that Shumah's recent performances are a clear demonstration of the striker's immense potential.

"When I spoke about Shumah and his capabilities, people were like, ‘There are issues between me and him.’ Today he was there harassing each and every ball and making defenders uncomfortable. He got the three goals for his team, which is very special," Mutapa commented.

The manager was also impressed with his team's overall performance, which he described as showing "championship character." The victory extended the reigning champions' lead at the top of the table to five points.

"That was championship character," Mutapa added. "After going behind, we fought back and equalised. It was a tough encounter."

A Derby Treble to Remember

In the match against Zesco United, Moses Shumah opened the scoring in the 18th minute to give the visitors an early lead. Zesco United responded swiftly, with Amine Hiver scoring twice in the 3rd and 39th minutes to put his side ahead.

Undeterred, Shumah levelled the score in the 65th minute before sealing the win and his hat-trick with a clinical finish ten minutes from time.

The three goals took Shumah's tally for the season to 12, placing him at the top of the league's goal-scoring chart. The Kenyan international has been in exceptional form since his record transfer from Kakamega Homeboyz in 2025.

Before moving to Zambia, the former Kakamega Homeboyz star finished as the top scorer in the FKF Premier League with 17 goals. His impressive start in Zambia has included several braces, culminating in his first hat-trick for the club on Sunday.
