Charlton once again showed resilience on the road, building on their previous stalemate against Southampton to secure a valuable point away from home.

After earning his first start against Southampton over the weekend, Collins Sichenje’s composed display appeared to strengthen head coach Nathan Jones’s trust in him.

Although he began the match on the bench against West Brom, the Harambee Stars defender was introduced in the 35th minute and went on to make a strong defensive contribution, helping his side maintain stability at the back until the final whistle.

Meanwhile, the Addicks fell behind to a George Campbell header just before halftime, but responded resiliently. Lyndon Dykes netted his second goal for the club with 20 minutes remaining to ensure the spoils were shared.

The match began cautiously, with the first significant chance arriving after 25 minutes. A cross from the left found West Brom's Campbell, whose close-range header was crucially blocked by Greg Docherty, allowing goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski to gather the ball.

Charlton Athletic soon registered their first attempt when Sonny Carey unleashed a low drive from distance, but Baggies keeper Max O’Leary was well-positioned to make the save.

As the half progressed, the hosts began to assert more control. Charlie Taylor fired over the bar, and Charlton's defensive efforts were complicated when Lloyd Jones was forced off with an injury, replaced by Collins Sinchenje.

The deadlock was broken on the stroke of halftime. A deep corner from the right found defender Campbell at the back post, and he made no mistake, nodding home from close range to give West Brom the lead.

In response to the setback, manager Nathan Jones brought on Tyreece Campbell for Miles Leaburn at the start of the second half.

However, West Brom nearly doubled their lead seven minutes after the restart when Josh Maja was played into the box, only to place his shot wide.
