Haaland reacts to viral meme of his attack on referee Simon Hooper

Manchester City's ace Erling Haaland is currently the joke of the town, as his flagrant reaction during Manchester City’s draw against Tottenham has been 'memeified', but the Norwegian is taking it all in good faith.

The former Dortmund striker showed a rare outburst of anger when he accosted referee Simon Hooper over the weekend after the match official was inconsistent with the use of the advantage rule, which cost Man City a chance to win the match as Jack Grealish was through on goal.

Hooper blew a foul in City’s favour while Grealish was through on goal, and an angry Haaland charged at the referee, vociferating his disagreement with the official's judgement, as he believed he should have let the play go on as they were at an advantage.

Haaland’s face was superimposed over several pictures where the original expressed emotions of shock or anger. 

Haaland showed his sense of humour as he quoted one of such memes, saying: "Wtf, that made me smile for the first time today."

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland faces an FA charge for criticizing referee Simon Hooper, following a contentious six-goal thriller between Manchester City and Tottenham at the Etihad.
