In what is turning into a fascinating title race between the two bitter rivals, Gor Mahia responded to Leopards’ victory on Saturday, after Ingwe had beaten APs Bomet 2-1 a day earlier.

K’Ogalo broke the deadlock after 14 minutes when Felix Oluoch found the target and it took them another 14 minutes to double their advantage, Sharrif Musa with the goal this time.

Gor Mahia kept asking the questions in the second half but were not clinical enough until four minutes from time, when the third goal arrived.

Subs Combine to Put Icing on Gor’s Cake

Substitutes Ebenezer Asifuah and Erick Kapen combined with the former finding the latter who tapped home for 3-0 to firm up the win for Gor Mahia.

It is back-to-back victories for Gor Mahia which also extends their unbeaten run to five games and they are now on 33 points from 16 matches, same as Leopards, but having a game in hand over Ingwe.

Charles Akonnor’s side have regained their early season mojo and look determined to reclaim the league title that they lost to Kenya Police last term although the form of AFC Leopards is threatening to spoil their party.
