Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that this win marked the sixth time Leverkusen have made it to the round of 16 in their history in the competition.

Tella, who scored his first goal in the Champions League, found the back of the net in the 64th minute, doubling Leverkusen's lead after Florian Wirtz opened the scoring in the 32nd minute.

The Nigerian forward has been an important player since joining the club in August 2023, and his performance was crucial in this important match.

Nathan Tella scored his first goal in seven matches in the Champions League this term.

Despite a valiant effort from Sparta Prague, who threatened with another Nigerian forward Victor Olatunji, they were unable to penetrate Leverkusen's solid defence or capitalise on their chances.

The German champions' clinical finishing proved too much for the visitors, ensuring a comfortable victory.
