Frank Onyeka: The numbers behind the tank's first PL goal for Brentford
Brentford won for the first time in the Premier League in ten matches with Nigeria’s Frank Onyeka playing a decisive role.
The Bees were without a win since February 10th against Wolves but returned to winning ways after a hard-fought 2-0 win against bottom club Sheffield United at the weekend.
Onyeka inspires Brentford
The Super Eagles midfielder sealed the important win with the second goal of the day in added time after an own goal put the host ahead.
It was his first goal of the season in the Premier League for Brentford as he continues to impress for club and country since a remarkable AFCON 2023 campaign.
But that’s not the only key takeaway from the entertaining clash at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
His Numbers
The 26-year-old featured for just only one minute after he replaced teammate Mattias Jensen in added time, with Brentford leading by a slim margin.
His impact was immediate after coming on as Onyeka netted with his only shot on target in a game that saw him complete just three passes.
Onyeka also had five touches on the ball, completing 100% of his long balls but did not attempt or win a single tackle.

Most importantly, however, he found the winner to become the latest Nigerian star to score this season in the Premier League thanks to Kevin Schade’s superb pass.
