Francis Ngannou: Cameroonian MMA fighter reveals next fight following loss to Antony Joshua
However, his sights aren't solely set on the octagon; Ngannou is eyeing a rematch with Tyson Fury after their electrifying encounter last October.
Having inked a deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) after parting ways with the UFC last year, Ngannou's debut in the MMA promotion was momentarily shelved as he chased after the biggest names in boxing.
Targeting Heavyweight Titans
Ngannou, fresh off his bout with Joshua, has his sights firmly set on the winner of Fury's upcoming clash with Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for May 18.
But that's not all. The Cameroonian behemoth has also committed to stepping back into the cage to take on Renan Ferreira in the PFL.
In a post-fight interview after knocking out Ryan Bader in a stunning 21-second victory last month, Ferreira wasted no time in calling out Ngannou.
"I am the real champion out here... Francis, where are you? Let’s do this," Ferreira declared, as reported by the Mirror, eagerly awaiting a showdown with the heavyweight sensation.
"I already am one of the greatest heavyweights of all time," Ferreira boasted. "I’ve proved this inside of the SmartCage and I’m going to continue proving it."
Ngannou, unfazed by Ferreira's challenge, expressed his confidence in his abilities across multiple disciplines. "I am the only one to go in their backyard, none of them can come in my backyard. I would take two of them at once," Ngannou boldly asserted.
Reflecting on his upcoming bout with Joshua, Ngannou maintained his characteristic humility despite being labelled the underdog. "I am going out there to prove that you can be an underdog and stand your ground," he affirmed.
