Eliud Siganga, alias ‘Sigi’, is looking to make an impact on the greens at the Nakuru Golf Club this weekend as the KCB East Africa Golf Tour continues to sweep across the region.

Eliud Siganga has already been making waves, claiming dominant wins in Nyanza and Nandi and will be out to continue the winning streak to the Nakuru leg.

Siganga is a former rugby powerhouse, and he made his mark with the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine and Kenya Harlequins. During his time as a rugby player, Eliud Siganga bagged multiple Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup titles.

Aside from playing at university level, Siganga also featured for the national rugby 15s side, the Kenya Simbas.

He also went into management, serving as Chairman of the Rhinos Rugby Franchise, and during that time, leading them to the Bamburi Rugby Super Series titles in 2003 and 2007.

In 2009, Eliud Siganga made a life-changing decision after being posted to Mumias town by his employer, KCB.

He was then surrounded by golf-loving friends from Mumias Sugar Company, and he started attending a series of golf tournaments.

He has since made a mark on the golfing stage and is currently a two-time staff winner of the Nakuru leg of the KCB Golf Tour, in 2013 and in 2024.

Eliud Siganga also conquered the Kakamega and Nyanza editions in 2023, and was also crowned the Inter Bank Golf Champion at Sigona in October 2023.

“I like Nakuru’s layout. It rewards tactical play and calm under pressure, two things I have worked on over time,” he said.

Beyond the golf course, Eliud Siganga is a prominent figure in both sports and community leadership and has held key roles, including Chairman of the Kakamega Sports Club, President of the Lions Club Kakamega, and serving on the Kakamega County Budget and Economic Forum.

Looking ahead, Eliud Siganga is set to participate in the upcoming Kakamega and Kisii stops of the KCB Tour.
