Fermin Lopez: Manchester United, Chelsea linked with highly-rated Barcelona star
Manchester United are reportedly readying a €70m (£61m) offer to secure the services of Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, as per Spanish outlet Sport.
Under manager Ruben Amorim, United have already bolstered their attack with the additions of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, while also pursuing a new striker to further strengthen their squad.
Fermin, a 22-year-old standout, featured in 46 matches across all competitions for Barcelona last season, contributing eight goals and 10 assists.
Despite interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Saudi Pro League clubs, the midfielder has consistently expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona.
However, Sport reports that Barcelona’s ongoing financial challenges could force them to consider United’s potential €70m (£61m) bid.
If Manchester United follow through with the offer, the Spanish champions may be open to negotiating a deal for the talented young midfielder.
The 22-year-old's arrival is expected to see Rasmus Hojlund leave the club this summer in search of regular game time.
