Ex Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr names key player for Nigeria’s AFCON triumph

This matchup, a classic rivalry between two of West Africa's football powerhouses, is already creating a buzz and promises to be one of the tournament's most exciting fixtures.

Gernot Rohr, the former coach of the Super Eagles, shared his thoughts on the upcoming game in an interview with OwnGoalNigeria. 

Emphasizing the intense nature of this rivalry, Rohr said, “The game has always been one that will always be top of Africa. So, it is not about tactics all the time. You need players who can stand up to the moment. It is really tense in these games against Cameroon.”

Rohr highlighted the importance of having players with strong character and personality in such high-stakes matches. He particularly singled out Moses Simon as a player who thrives in big games. 

"I will go for players with big characters and big personalities in big games. It is why I always have Moses Simon in my team for the game. He is a player for the big occasions because he really works hard for the team. He can be decisive on match day," Rohr concluded.
