Ex-Kaizer Chiefs Forward on Why Only Pitso Mosimane Can Save Amakhosi - ‘They Must Swallow their Pride’
As struggling South African giants Kaizer Chiefs continue their search for a new coach, the club has been advised not to look far away as the solution is just nearby.
Chiefs are set to appoint a new coach at the end of the season after the tenure of current co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef ends in June and the name of Pitso Mosimane has featured prominently.
The veteran tactician has himself never closed the door on coaching Chiefs but the club has seemed reluctant to head that way for reasons still unknown but former winger Junior Khanye thinks only Mosimane can restore their lost pride.

“Bring Pitso, give him a cheque book and also restructure their development because you can’t buy, buy forever,” Khanye said on Marawa Sports Worldwide with Robert Marawa.
“They need a long the way in three years, if somebody says I need three players, let’s go there [academy]. In the development, they will understand the culture of the team.”
Why Khanye Wants Mosimane at Chiefs Now
The controversial ex-Chiefs star wonders why they have not approached Mosimane yet when he is currently without a job given his vast experience and success at clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
“The answer is very simple, I think the mindset of the technical team, how they do things,” Khanye replied when asked why he thinks Chiefs have been overlooking Mosimane. “Pitso like he keeps saying; ‘I am available’ so bring him. There is no other coach for me.”
While the Glamour Boys are looking at a coaching change at the end of the season, Khanye feels it is beneficial for them to bring in Mosimane now.
“Kaizer Chiefs must swallow their pride and bring him now, give him a cheque book now so that he can come and watch the games remaining and identify players that he wants now,” he further stated.
Chiefs have bounced back from a run of four straight games to win their last three and boost their chances of finishing third which will secure CAF Confederation Cup qualification but questions remain about the suitability of Kaze and Ben Youssef as well as their squad for success in the long term.
