D'Tigers: Vincent missing, Okogie returns to squad ahead of 2025 AfroBasket
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has unveiled a preliminary roster for the D'Tigers.
Nigeria's men's national basketball team as set to step up preparation for the 2025 AfroBasket tournament.
This is 31st edition of the FIBA AfroBasket scheduled to take place in Angola from August 12 to 24, 2025.
The list features emerging talents from various global leagues, including four returning Olympians and notable NBA representation.
The team aims to reclaim the AfroBasket title they last won in 2015 and become Africa's top-ranked team.
The most notable inclusion is that of Josh Okogie, who returns to the squad after completing a move to the Houston Rockets on a one-year, $3.1 million deal.
Okogie, a versatile forward known for his defensive prowess with a career-high 1.2 steals per game last season, strengthens the team's backcourt.
However, Los Angeles Lakers tar Gabe Vincent is missing from the list.
Nigeria has been placed in Group B for the AfroBasket in Angola, where they will face formidable opponents.
They take on Tunisia, Madagascar, and Cameroon as they aim to advance to the knockout rounds.
