David Rudisha over the moon as his daughter with estranged wife joins Form One

With the school year dawning, World 800m record holder David Rudisha found himself standing at the crossroads of nostalgia and anticipation as his daughter was just embarking on her high school journey.

The poignant moment stirred a myriad of emotions in the Olympic champion and he could not shy away from sharing the news with his audience on his social media handles.

In a post on his X (Twitter) handle, the track and field legend, renowned for his awe-inspiring prowess on the running track, said: “Your high school journey has started and we wish you nothing but the best.”

In the photo shared, Rudisha is seen embracing the young girl as they were all smiles standing in front of the school’s administration block.

The corridors of academia are now beckoned to the youngster, promising a trove of knowledge, friendships, and self-discovery. The daughter will be joining Kaplong Girls High School in Bomet County.

Meanwhile, Rudisha is one of the greatest Kenyan athletes to ever exist, from his dominant exploits on the track. He is a two-time World, Olympic, and Diamond League Final Trophy champion and he is also a two-time African champion.

He has since retired and expressed interest in venturing into coaching, something he believes will benefit many upcoming athletes.
