David Okereke celebrate Cremonese 'Magic' in win against AC Milan
Nigerian striker David Okereke was a massive contributor as US Cremonese pulled off a sensational 2-1 victory over AC Milan at the iconic San Siro.
The Nigerian made his return to Italy after a stint in Turkey last season to participate in one of the upsets of the Serie A season.
Okereke hails Magic for Cremonese
Okereke was named in the starting line up for Cremonese in their Serie A opener by head coach Davide Nicola.
The match saw the visiting Cremonese take the lead in the 28th minute when Federico Baschirotto shocked the crowd.
AC Milan responded just before halftime, with Strahinja Pavlovic equalizing in the 45th minute, as both teams went into the break level.
The turning point came in the 61st minute when Cremonese added a second goal through Federico Bonazzoli, assisted by Pezzella to restore their lead.
In the 65th minute, Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze was brought on for Fikayo Tomori as AC Milan were in search for an equalizer.
At the same time, Okereke was taken off for Antonio Sanabria, marking the end of shift.
Despite Milan’s late efforts, Cremonese held on to stun the Rossoneri at the San Siro and claim all three points.
Okereke took to social media to celebrate the victory stating the magic that resulted into a massive performance from the team.

Okereke now back in Italy will return to action when Cremonese play their first home game of the season against Sassuolo on Friday, August 29, 2025.
