Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving's season has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced on Tuesday.
The injury occurred during Monday's loss to the Sacramento Kings when Irving's knee bent awkwardly as he attempted a layup.
Despite needing assistance to walk, Irving showcased his determination by staying on the court to shoot two free throws.

However, the pain was evident, and he was seen grimacing throughout. Irving left the game after shooting the free throws and did not return.
The Mavericks initially reported Irving's injury as a left knee sprain, but further medical evaluation revealed the severity of the issue.
Irving's injury is a significant blow to the Mavericks, who are already dealing with several key players being sidelined. The 32-year-old guard had been averaging 25 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game this season.
