Chukwueze's absence hurt us — AC Milan boss Pioli admits after Udinese defeat

AC Milan fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Udinese at the San Siro on Saturday night.

Roberto Pereyra scored the game's only goal just after the hour mark, condemning the Rossoneri to a shock home defeat, and a fourth game in succession without a victory.

Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze missed the game with a minor hamstring injury and Pioli admitted that the former Villarreal man would have made a significant impact.

“I am sure that I have important characteristics at my disposal. I made a different choice today because Pulisic and Chukwueze were unavailable, otherwise, we know how we want to attack and approach the games. 

“We must do much better, it is only fair that the fans jeer and especially that they jeer me, because this was not the performance we wanted.”

Milan will now turn their attention to the Champions League clash against Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
