He can't stop scoring — CAF hails Nigeria Super Eagles hat-trick hero Osimhen

Nigeria's Victor Osimhen finished the CAF AFCONQ2023 as the top scorer with an incredible tally of 10 goals in six matches.

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has reacted to the performance of Nigeria Super Eagles start striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen stole the show again as Nigeria put Sao Tome and Principe in their place in the final round of the CAF AFCONQ2023.

The Super Eagles ensured a fine finish following a thumping 6-0 win against the Falcons and True Parrots on Sunday.

Osimhen shines in Uyo

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom witness an excellent performance from the Nigerian Eagles.

Led by Osimhen, the Eagles sealed their place as Group B winners with a six-goal thriller.

The Napoli hero went home with the match ball after his hat-trick against the Falcons.

The 24-year-old scored one in the first half before he added two more in the second to round up a wonderful show in Uyo.

CAF hails Osimhen

His goals against the True Parrots were the seventh he had scored against Sao Tome in two matches.

The hat-trick took his tally to 10 goals in six matches as he finished as the top scorer in the African qualifiers.

CAF reacted to that latest performance having asked before the game if the Napoli hero would add to his tally. 

“Spoiler: Yes he does..THREE TIMES,” CAF posted on X.com “He just can't stop scoring.” "Osimhen's ruthlessness in front of goal proved the difference as Nigeria coasted to victory," it added as per the official website.

Osimhen has now scored six goals in four matches for club and country across competitions.
