Barnabas Varga: Hungary star pictured for the first time since horrific injury against Scotland
Hungary’s Barnabas Vargra is recovering in hospital after fracturing multiple bones in his face against Scotland at EURO 2024
Varga, 29, sustained the horrific injury after colliding with Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn in the 74th minute of their UEFA EURO 2024 clash. The Ferencvacos striker was immediately rushed to the hospital with fans and members of the coaching staff visibly concerned.
After initial checks, it has since been confirmed that the striker sustained a fractured cheek.

Varga has now been pictured in his hospital bed, recovering and sharing smiles with visitors.
A statement from the Hungary FA said: "Led by Marco Rossi, some members of the professional staff and Endre Botka, representing the players, visited Barnabás Varga in Klinikum Stuttgart. The visitors interpreted the wishes of the whole team for the player."
Hungary won the game thanks to Kevin Csoboth’s goal in the 10th minute of added time.
