The Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs have commenced at SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, starting with an exhilarating match where Kriol Star of Cape Verde narrowly defeated FUS Rabat Basketball of Morocco with a score of 91–88.

Joel Ntambwe was the top scorer for Kriol Star, contributing 22 points, while Ivan Almeida achieved a triple-double with 18 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds while Jalan McCloud contributed 21 points as well.

Yacine Baeri scored 22 points for FUS Rabat, the most on his team, while making an impressive 7-of-8 attempts from beyond the arc.

The second game showcased a battle of the unbeaten, as Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya faced off against Al Ittihad of Egypt with a score of 85-74.

With 19 points, Majok Deng spearheaded the effort, while Lual Acuil recorded a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Fabian White Jr contributed 24 points—more than anyone else in the game—as well as 10 rebounds for Al Ahli Tripoli.
