Nigeria international Ademola Lookman was one of the stars of the night as Atalanta BC emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan.

In what was the battle between two Super Eagles stars, Lookman overshadowed his compatriot Chuwkueze after he netted a brace to inspire Atalanta to a 3-2 win on Saturday night.

Lookman’s brilliant brace

The 26-year-old put on a man-of-the-match performance to put Chukwueze and his Milan side to the sword.

He scored not just one but two excellent goals which became the foundation for Atalanta’s eventual.

Also, the former Everton star completed the most dribbles in the game, three (3), created three (3) chances, made three key passes and completed 97% of his passes in the game.

Lookman has now scored six goals and assisted two more in 15 appearances for Atalanta this season.

Chukwueze’s quiet outing

Meanwhile, it was a different case for Lookman’s compatriot, Chukwueze, on the other side.

Not only did the Atalanta star, who played for 83 minutes outshine him, the Milan winger had a quiet display.

The 24-year-old will continue to wait for his first goal for the Italian giants after firing blanks again in his 11th game.

Having the duo on the pitch added more spice to the encounter given the Nigerian factor.

Nigeria’s Lookman may have netted a brace on the night but his teammate Luis Muriel stole the headlines after his late winner. 

Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic netted for Milan to cancel Lookman’s double for Atalanta.

But the home side will take all three points thanks to Muriel’s stunning winner in added time. 

It was a win the hosts needed as it earned them a return to winning ways, putting an end to a run of four matches without a win.
