Arsenal have communicated to academy forward Nefeye Osaze that he will not be offered a scholarship contract, a decision that confirms his departure from Hale End ahead of the 2026–2027 season.

The update comes as Premier League academies finalise their squads for the new campaign, providing clarity for young players transitioning into the scholarship phase of their careers.

Premier League rules require scholarship deals for U-17 players.

Under Premier League youth development regulations, players entering their U17 season must be on a scholarship agreement, which serves as a bridge to signing their first professional contract at age 17.

With Arsenal opting not to extend such an offer, Osaze is now free to negotiate with other clubs as he seeks the next step in his career.

Osaze, who was part of the Arsenal U13 side that lifted the Premier League National Cup, had shown promise during his time at the club’s prestigious Hale End Academy.

However, with competition for places fierce and the club refining its future talent pool, Arsenal have decided not to retain him.

The information was confirmed by trusted Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird, who reported that the teenager was officially informed of the club’s decision.

While Osaze prepares for a new chapter elsewhere, Arsenal are expected to keep several high-profile prospects, including Ethan Nwaneri, one of the most highly rated talents in the country and Michal Rosiak, both of whom are likely to be offered scholarship terms.
