‘All the players were petrified’ - Terry reveals how the players were scared of Mourinho when he arrived

Mourinho joined Chelsea in June 2004 from Porto having led the Portuguese team to winning the Champions League.

The Portuguese presence after joining the Blues put fear into the players which commanded respect from Terry.

Reflecting on Mourinho's tenure, Terry highlighted the manager's intimidating yet inspiring presence, as reported by TalkSport, "When Jose Mourinho first came in, all the players were petrified." 

He continued, emphasizing Mourinho's impact, "From a tactical point of view, he was on a level that I still haven’t seen matched today."

Terry's admiration for Mourinho extended beyond the pitch, revealing a deep respect and loyalty, "I would do absolutely anything for that man... I adore him." 

Mourinho's departure left an emotional void within the Chelsea squad, underscoring the profound impact he had on both individual players and the team as a whole.

Terry expressed regret over Mourinho's dismissal, stating, "I thought Roman Abramovich was wrong to get rid of him."
