Ajibade follows Okocha’s footsteps with first goal for PSG in Champions League
Super Falcons star Rasheedat Ajibade joined the ranks of Nigerian stars who have netted for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The Nigerian star scored for PSG in their 2-1 UEFA Women’s Champions League loss to Real Madrid, recording her first goal since her summer move.
Ajibade scores first goal for PSG
The Super Falcons captain scored her first goal in her sixth match for PSG with a far-post header to give the French side hope in their tie against Real Madrid Femenino.
The Nigerian star’s goal came while PSG were already 2-0 down and threatened to start a comeback for the home side, but Real Madrid held on for a crucial Champions League win.
The goal against Real Madrid made Ajibade the latest Nigerian player to find the back of the net, joining the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Bartholomew Ogbeche, and Jennifer Echegini, who have also scored for the French club’s men’s and women’s teams.
Echegini was also on the pitch against Real Madrid for PSG alongside Ajibade, but was unable to affect the match before being substituted in the 81st minute.
Ajibade settling into new club
Ajibade’s first goal for PSG comes after her first assist for the French club as she settles into new surroundings in Paris.
After four successful seasons at Atletico Madrid, Ajibade joined PSG in the summer of 2025 after her contract with the Spanish side expired.
The 2024 WAFCON Player of the Tournament will be eager to keep up her form for Atletico Madrid and the Super Falcons as she embarks on a new adventure in France.
