Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala, fondly called "Agba Baller," has opened up about the love, care, and positivity that shaped her journey from a young girl in Lagos to one of Africa’s greatest footballers.

In a heartfelt video shared by CAF Women on Instagram, the six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year reflected on her childhood and her mission to inspire change.

Speaking on what made her special as a young girl, Oshoala said, “Everyone has always loved me. Everyone has always cared for me.”

“I got lucky, the kind of family I grew up from, I had caring people, people that actually look out for me. I think the special thing about me is that I attract good luck, good and beautiful things.”

Oshoala, who currently plays for Bay FC in the NWSL, also emphasised her commitment to uplifting young girls through her foundation.

“I have always been an advocate for the girl child in society,” she said.

“I have a foundation which supports the girl child, tries to encourage them, gives them hope for the future, and makes them understand that there’s a lot to achieve in life rather than what the environment is preaching to them.”

The 30-year-old’s journey from Ikorodu to global acclaim, including winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Barcelona, serves as an inspiration.

Her foundation’s work empowers girls to dream beyond societal limitations, offering hope and opportunities.
