After missing out on Osimhen, Saudi Arabia plot world-record raid of Real Madrid for star forward
Saudi Arabia's top clubs are back on the offensive, and this time, their sights are locked on Vinicius Junior as they look to take advantage of growing contract uncertainty in Spain.
After failing to convince Victor Osimhen to swap Europe for the Middle East, Saudi Pro League suitors are preparing a €350 million world-record offer for the Real Madrid star.
Vinicius’ Madrid future clouded by Mbappe arrival
With Real Madrid still unable to agree fresh terms with Vinicius, Saudi clubs sense blood in the water. Although Vinicius’ deal runs until 2027, no extension appears close.
Worse still, the Brazilian may now be the odd man out following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival. Los Blancos see Mbappe as their crown jewel, and doubts have emerged about how the two stars fit together.
While Madrid previously insisted on Vinicius’ €1 billion release clause, they may soften their stance if chemistry issues persist.
Osimhen rejects Saudi millions
Meanwhile, Al Hilal’s €75 million offer for Victor Osimhen hit a familiar wall. Despite Napoli’s willingness to sell and the package meeting financial expectations, Osimhen continues to ignore all Saudi advances.
His eyes are firmly on Galatasaray, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell, with the added benefit of playing in the Champions League.
Galatasaray are now scrambling to finalise their own deal, with minor details holding up the final agreement with Napoli for Osimhen’s signature.
With Osimhen out of reach, Saudi officials are doubling down on Vinicius, a younger, global superstar with massive appeal.
